I get to open lots of boxes every day. My workplace requires an auto-retracting blade. This one does all the cutting I need, and it does the auto-retract trick they want. The springy lanyard is very handy too.

Thank you for the reply. Due to the nature of the knife and its design as a safety knife we purposely keep the blade more protected. Is there a specific reason that you want/need a safety knife with a blade fully exposed as you would find on a regular utility knife? Also if you do not need the safety functions, we have a full line of fixed and folding utility knives that might fit your application better.

Q: What depth does your Safety knife with holster cut? Looking for a paper industry where the machine tenders have to slit a 12' role of tissue paper cutting into multiple layers of tissue at once.

A: Setting #1 exposes the blade 4mm, setting #2 allows 8mm, and setting #3 allows 12mm
